Halloween Parade

Our Halloween Parade takes place at school in the morning, beginning at 9:00 am, October 31. Parents are welcome to watch the parade from seats in the gym (please note it will take the students about 15-20 minutes to make it to the gym.

Ms. Sande’s class: Students in Ms. Sande’s class may bring costumes in their backpack. Teachers will help dress students. Staff will accompany students to GenEd classrooms as appropriate.

Kindergarten through 3rd grade students:  Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are asked to bring costumes to school for the Halloween Parade.  All costumes need to be in good taste.  Violence, sex and drug themes are banned by the school district policy in any school attire. Toy swords, knives, blood displays, and guns are also prohibited. Any students who have such costumes will not be able to wear them.

Costumes are for parade only:  Kindergarten through 3rd grade students do not wear their costumes to school.  They need to bring them in their backpacks and store them when they get here. The teachers will decide in each class when it is the appropriate time to put the costumes on.

Students need to put on their own costumes unassisted:  Kindergarten through 3rd grade students need to be able to put on their own costumes.  Please be sure the costume is one they can put on.  Maybe a little practice at home first will help.  Teachers will not have time to help all students with their costumes so being able to put them on by themselves will be important.

No hair spray & no make up:  Students cannot bring hair spray, hair paint, or make up to school. Costumes should not be dependent on make up or hair spray. Hair spray in the hands of young students in a crowd can be very dangerous and make up can be messy and takes way too long to get ready.

If you have any questions, feel free to talk to your child’s teacher or call the office at
330-7631.  Please contact your child’s classroom teacher if you would like to help in any other way.  All classroom helpers must be pre-arranged with the classroom teacher.  A volunteer packet must be filled out and pass the background check at the office prior to helping in the classroom.

Please do not send treats unless you have made plans with the classroom teacher to do so.  All treats need to be store bought due to Health Department concerns.
