COVID Vaccine Q&A Video Recording

Our Deputy County Health Officer, Dr. Steven Krager, has recorded a video of himself answering questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, particularly with regard to 5-11 year olds, which you can view here:

The questions he answers are:
1. How do mRNA vaccines work?
2. How do we know there won’t be long-term side effects to the COVID vaccine, especially regarding fertility?
3. Is there a risk of heart inflammation, or myocarditis, after getting the vaccine?
4. Since the vaccine does for 5-11 year olds is 1/3 of the dose for those 12 and over, should I get myself vaccinated now, or should I wait until they turn 12 and can get the larger dose?
5. Since young kids mostly get mild illness from a COVID-19 infection, does it make sense to vaccinate them to prevent that?
