CHS Student Represents WA at National Congress of Future Medical Leaders
Kaitlyn McDonald will represent Centralia High School at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, MA June 25-27. Kaitlynn just completed her sophomore year at CHS. She was nominated for the honor by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in medicine and Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Her academic achievement, leadership potential, and determination to serve in the medical field were among the considerations according to a press release.
During the two-day conference she will join students from across the nation to hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners speak about medical research. She’ll also learn about cutting-edge advances and the future of medicine and medical technology. Kaitlynn hopes to become a trauma surgeon. Her passion for medicine is rooted in her participation in CHS’ sports medicine program.
