Tiger Families,

Beginning March 13th, the start of 3rd trimester, we want to dedicate additional and more intentional time to intervening with students who are academically at risk of not earning the necessary credits to graduate.  To accomplish this, we are incorporating a 25-minute Study Hall with a 2nd period, so students can have additional time to work in classrooms where they have missing work, unfinished tests, and/or just need some re-teaching.  The effect on the overall student schedule will be that all classes are shortened by 5 minutes to make it possible to extend the 2nd period by 25 minutes. As an incentive to maintain and improve grades, students with all grades at a C or above will have the option to participate in Flex time during Study Hall.  Flex time will be fun activities held in the gym, Library, and Performing Arts Center.  Students are expected to remain on campus during this time period.

Tigers who struggled during trimester 2 and didn’t quite get to a passing grade can retrieve that credit during winter retrieval.  students who have 40% or higher on the final day of trimester 2 can get the credit back.  this will take place after school starting March 16.  see Mr. Ulrigg in room 110 or Mrs. Haskins in the counseling center for more details.
