    Mr. Louie Blaser

Born and raised in Centralia, Louie Blaser is the son of current Centralia Middle School Band director Joe Blaser and grandson of former Centralia High School Band director Ron Brumbaugh.  Louie graduated from Centralia High School in 2000 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Central Washington University in December of 2004 where he graduated magna cum laude.  While at CWU, he taught Intermediate Band at the Ellensburg Christian School for two years before coming back to Centralia to take over the band program in the fall of 2005.  In the seven years he has been in Centralia, the high school band program has grown from 58 students to 92 students, and those numbers continue to rise.  Mr. Blaser plays clarinet with the Northwest Wind Symphony, of which he has been a member for the last 12 years, and is going on his 5th year as the director of the Lewis County Community Band.  A lover of jazz, he has played lead alto saxophone with the local Sound of Swing Big Band for 8 years, and he teaches private lessons on nearly every instrument.
