The City of Centralia has a new scrip program designed to help low income individuals! Scrip is an alternative form of currency - it acts just like regular money but can only be used at participating businesses in Centralia. We want to help individuals who need a little extra help during Covid, and also help our local merchants by encouraging people to shop local!

Centralia residents with income of less than or equal to 150% of the federal poverty guidelines ($1,595/month for an individual) are eligible for the scrip. Households will receive between $100 - $250 depending on the size of the household. Centralia businesses are already signing up to accept the scrip!

The City is accepting applications now on a first-come, first-served basis until the money has all been distributed. Scrip will begin to be mailed out starting the week of August 3rd. Application deadline is 4:30 PM on August 14.  Please share this information widely!
